Usually it's The Scenestar giving away cool prizes like concert tickets, vinyl records, CDs and more but this time not too long ago, one of our staff members got lucky and won a FREE iPad from a Facebook contest! One of our writers hit "like" Silverleaf Computer Services, a local, independent Los Angeles tech support company and luckily got an unexpected cool new tech toy to work with. We figured why not give them a shout out? When the staff member picked it up, they told them they're giving another iPad away soon so it never hurts to try to get lucky to win this handy piece of machinery by checking them out. Caifanes To Headline Reventon 2011

It looks like we have our Los Angeles date Caifanes fans! After playing a reunion date at Coachella 2011 in April, Caifanes have scheduled a tour on the West Coast. Our local date will be part of Reventon Super Estrella 107.1 at Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live on Friday, Oct. 14. Other dates include earlier tour stops on Friday, Sept. 16 at House of Blues Las Vegas, Saturday, Sept. 17 at Valley View Casino in San Diego and Sunday, Sept 18 at the Warfield in San Francisco.

Tickets to see Caifanes at Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live go on sale next month on Friday, July 15 via Ticketmaster. We'll keep you posted if any presales are announced so you can see Caifanes live this Fall in Los Angeles! See their full U.S. and Mexican Fall tour schedule at the jump:

Neil Gaiman Engaged To Amanda Palmer

English author Neil Gaiman is finally making an honest woman out of Amanda Palmer. Announced on Friday via his online journal, The Sandman creator had this news to share with the rest of the world:

The Dresden Dolls vocalist Amanda Palmer shared her reaction to the news via her Twitter on Saturday: morning. new daily ritual: look in mirror. think of the word "wife". feel terror. then ponder who the husband is. then feel unstoppable joy.

Congratulations to the happy couple on their upcoming nuptials and for sharing the news to their fans online. They are both currently in Los Angeles this weekend for the Golden Globes for Neil Gaiman's nomination for his novel turned animated film Coraline. Neil Gaiman will also be speaking at UCLA's Royce Hall on Thursday, February 4th. Click below to get your tickets today to congratulate him yourself!

Morrissey Issues Statement On 2009 Tour

Morrissey has issued a statement today via Morrissey webzine True To You regarding his feeling on the recently release B-sides from 2004 to 2009 Swords and his most recent tour that ended the year. Morrissey his feelings on the Swords release in November which were mostly filled with sorrow regarding pricing and goes into his favorite shows at the end of the year including some of the incidents that happened throughout the tour.
