Following the Manchester bombing on May 22 at an Ariana Grande concert, Broken Social Scene began their European tour the next day in that city, with the band's Kevin Drew telling the crowd: "What's most important is tonight we're here together, all of us. That's what we can do, and that's what we're doing. So thank you, Manchester. We're so happy — there's no other place we'd rather be than here with you."
