Coachella 2020 Postponed Until April 2021

Here we go again, Scenestar readers. Goldenvoice has officially announced that Coachella 2020 and Stagecoach 2020 are moving once again due to current global coronavirus transmission concerns. One of the biggest and best-known festivals in the U.S. is moving from originally rescheduled dates: Friday, October 9, to Sunday, October 11, (Weekend 1) and Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, (Weekend 2) to Friday, April 9, to Sunday, April 11, 2021 (Weekend 1) and Friday, April 16, to Sunday, April 18, 2021 (Weekend 2). Stagecoach will be taking place from Friday, April 23, to Sunday, April 25, 2021. No details have been released on whether the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will still feature performances by headliners—Frank Ocean, Rage Against The Machine, and Travis Scott. on both festival weekends next year.

Original Amoeba Hollywood Location to Close

Sad news for music lovers that didn't get to visit the original location in Hollywood before it closed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Amoeba Music has announced that its location at 6400 Sunset Blvd will be closing permanently. They will now be concentrating on opening their new location at 6200 Hollywood Blvd when it is safe to do so. You can still order new record releases and old favorites via their online store until then. Amoeba projected that they wouldn't be able to reopen until the fall so it made more sense to concentrate on the grand opening of their new location instead of attempting to open based on current projections. You can help employees of Amoeba Music through the pandemic by donating to their Go Fund Me fundraiser as well here. Their new Hollywood location will still host in-store performances, signings, and more of what made Amoeba Music adored and unique in the music community. Unfortunately, their old (current) location will not get a proper farewell.

Nine Inch Nails Release 'Ghosts V - VI' For Free

For those of you that need a soundtrack to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have two to choose from courtesy of Nine Inch Nails! Trent Reznor tweeted to fans this morning "Anybody out there? New Nine Inch Nails out now. Ghosts V - VI. Hours and hours of music. Free. Some of it kind of happy, some not so much."

Kanye West "Sunday Service" at Coachella 2019

Another big name has been added to this year's Coachella 2019 lineup for a unique set! The big yearly event got even bigger thanks to the inclusion of Kanye West's exclusive "Sunday Service" on Sunday, April 21, at 9 a.m. Since Easter isn't taking place both weekends, Weekend 1 will not get to experience Kanye West on the Coachella campgrounds. Coachella 2019 is taking place on Friday, April 12, to Sunday, April 14, and Weekend 2 held from Friday, April 19, to Sunday, April 21, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. with headliners—Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, and Ariana Grande, — to take the stage at Coachella 2019.

Great news, Misfits fans! We might be seeing the return of the New Jersey punk band's original lineup for the first time since 2017 when they played a reunion show at The Forum. Today, Live Nation L.A. teased on Twitter that the band may be announcing a local tour date at Banc of California Stadium on Saturday, June 29. Anti-Nowhere League, Cro-Mags, The Distillers, and Rise Against will open the show.

KROQ, Matty from The 1975, and flyers all over Los Angeles made this underplay one of the worst-kept secrets ever for a "Localchella" show, but it looks like the band is set to play an intimate tour date at The Roxy on Wednesday, April 10 (Now officially confirmed by the band). The 1975 are already playing a SOLD OUT Santa Barbara Bowl on Sunday, April 21, with openers Pale Waves and No Rome. You can see The 1975 at Coachella 2019 on Friday, April 12, and Friday, April 19.

James Vincent McMorrow At John Anson Ford

Following a show last year at the Wiltern, Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow has scheduled two upcoming shows! In support of new album True Care, which will be released May 26, he will headline the John Anson Ford on Friday, August 11, and the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara on Saturday, August 12.
