Hollywood Bowl Release Their 2020 Schedule

One of our favorite summer concert announcements is here! The Hollywood Bowl has revealed who's performing during their 99th summer season, which includes a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. The Los Angeles Philharmonic has announced its schedule, and there are a lot of exciting options once again this year. The Hollywood Bowl 2020 concert calendar includes performances by The B-52s, The Beach Boys, Berlin, Andrew Bird, James Blake, Calexico, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow, Jamie Cullum, Flying Lotus, John Fogerty, Herbie Hancock, Debbie Harry, Hiatus Kaiyote, Brittany Howard, Iron & Wine, Lake Street Dive, Maxwell, Janelle Monae, Parcels, Polo & Pan, Poolside, Diana Ross, Jill Scott, Thundercat, Charlie Wilson, and many more. Also, the Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor—and Scenestar favorite—Gustavo Dudamel will once again make several appearances for orchestral performances as well as the annual KCRW Summer Concert Series will be returning with some of our favorite acts. More artists will be added closer to the general on-sale date.

Office Relief: Benefit for Australia at The Roxy

Musicians aren't the only ones lending their talents to raise funds to help Australia! The cast from the hit TV show "The Office" (Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, Creed Bratton, Angela Kinsey, Brian Baumgartner, Joel McHale, and more TBA), will take the stage at The Roxy on Thursday, February 6, as part of Office Relief: Benefit for Australia.

Kristin Chenoweth is ready to bring in the New Year in Los Angeles, Scenestar readers! The Tony and Emmy Award winner has two shows at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Tuesday, December 31, featuring special guests Shoshana Bean and Cheyenne Jackson. Academy Award®–nominated and Golden Globe– and Tony Award-winning performer Hugh Jackman; will be playing the last of two scheduled tour dates under the stars tonight at the Hollywood Bowl as part of his “The Man. The Music. The Show” tour. Hugh Jackman will be performing hit songs from The Greatest Showman, Les Misérables, and more from Broadway and film, accompanied by a live orchestra and special guest Keala Settle.

The Hollywood Bowl 2018 concert calendar includes performances by Beck, Bon Iver, Common, Father John Misty, Flying Lotus, The Go-Gos, Grizzly Bear, Jennifer Hudson, Little Dragon, Michael McDonald, Queen Latifah, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Diana Ross, Seal, TV on the Radio, Gillian Welch, and many more. Also, the Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor—and Scenestar favorite—Gustavo Dudamel will once again make several appearances for orchestral performances. The weekend continues, Scenestar readers. This time, one of rock's biggest acts is playing one of the city's biggest stages, and it takes our Show of the Night title: Metallica! The band's WorldWired Tour brings Metallica to the Rose Bowl this evening in support of their latest release Hardwired … to Self-Destruct. Opening for the heavy metal band will be special guests Avenged Sevenfold and Gojira.

BUY TICKETS: Pussy Riot "Revolution" at the Fonda Theatre

It's time to wrap up the weekend, Scenestar readers. Tonight we'll be at a unique event for our Show of the Night, Pussy Riot's "Revolution"! The Russian collective of female rockers will bring their music theater project to the Fonda Theatre tonight. The hour-long piece about protest, art, and political activism, which is based on the work of Maria Alyokhina (one of the leaders of Pussy Riot), will feature Pussy Riot's legendary protest punk actions. The roster of performers includes Maria Alyokhina, Kiryl Kanstantsinau, AWOTT (Asian Women on the Telephone), and VJ Vasily Bogatov. The evening will end with a conversation with members of the creative team.
