Hollywood Bowl Releases Their 2023 Schedule

One of our favorite times of the summer concert season is finally here! The Hollywood Bowl has revealed who's performing during their 2023 summer season. The Los Angeles Philharmonic has announced its schedule, and there are a lot of exciting options to look forward to this year. The Hollywood Bowl 2023 concert calendar includes performances by Air Supply, Alvvays, Los Auténticos Decadentes, The Beach Boys, Rubén Blades, Joe Bonamassa, Michael Bolton, Boy George and Culture Club, Cafe Tacvba, Cat Power, Chicano Batman, Jacob Collier, Fleet Foxes, Floating Points, Buddy Guy, Beres Hammond, Herbie Hancock, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Gladys Knight, Kool & the Gang, Diana Krall, John Legend, Maxwell, Modest Mouse, Morris Day and the Time, Carla Morrison, My Morning Jacket, Pixies, Portugal. The Man, Maggie Rogers, Say She She, Sparks, They Might Be Giants, Village People, John Williams, Charlie Wilson, and many more. Also, the Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor—and Scenestar favorite—Gustavo Dudamel will once again make several appearances for orchestral performances but will be leaving for New York in 2025 so take advantage of seeing his artistry while you can. More artists will be added closer to the general on-sale date and during the concert season.

Some of the individual LA Phil concerts that are on sale now include Opening Night with Janet Jackson and Ludacris on Saturday, June 10; Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival with Kamasi Washington, Leon Bridges, St. Paul and The Broken Bones, Digable Planets, Big Freedia, and more on Saturday, June 17, and Sunday, June 18; King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard on Wednesday, June 21; Jill Scott on Thursday, June 22; and Louis Tomlinson on Tuesday, June 30.

Lease shows that are currently scheduled at the Hollywood Bowl that are also on sale now include performances by Andrea Bocelli, Death Cab For Cutie, Matchbox Twenty, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Phish, The Postal Service, and Shania Twain.

Contest: Luann de Lesseps at El Rey Theatre

The holiday season is upon us and what better way to get in the mood than to head out to a variety show featuring Luann De Lesseps! You can see her take the stage as part of "A Very Countess Christmas!" at El Rey Theatre on Thursday, December 15; Friday, December 16; and Saturday, December 17.

Hollywood Bowl Single Ticket On Sale

Rahman, The Roots, Diana Ross, Gwen Stefani, TLC, UB40, John Williams, and many more. Also, the Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor—and Scenestar favorite—Gustavo Dudamel will once again make several appearances for orchestral performances as well as the annual KCRW Summer Concert Series will be returning with some of our favorite acts.

The Ford Announce Their 2022 Concert Schedule

One of our favorite "hidden gems" is returning for another season of shows! The Ford has revealed their concert offerings for this season, upon the Hollywood Hills, as programed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, with a lot of exciting options in their second year of booking the venue.

The Ford 2022 concert calendar includes performances by Babasónicos, Best Coast, Calexico, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Chulita Vinyl Club, Les Claypool (of Primus), Ani DiFranco, El Dusty, Melissa Etheridge, Nubya Garcia, José González, The Halluci Nation (fka A Tribe Called Red), Tigran Hamasyan, Ibeyi, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Monsieur Periné, Noche Cosmica (Thee Sinseers, Luna Luna, Katzù Oso, and Irene Diaz), Punch Brothers, She & Him, Rufus Wainwright, Warpaint, Kamasi Washington, and many more. More acts will be added to The Ford concert calendar throughout the year, as well as a FREE "101 Festival Concert" on Sunday, June 12, featuring some of your favorite artists to help kick off the season.

Contest: Bjork at the Shrine Auditorium

One of the most anticipated L.A. residencies is upon us, Scenestar readers! We're talking about Bjork making her way back to Los Angeles as part of the "Cornucopia Tour," which is taking place at the Shrine Auditorium on Wednesday, January 26; Saturday, January 29; and on Tuesday, February 1.

Fans can also travel to San Francisco to see Bjork at the Chase Center on Saturday, February 5, and on Tuesday, February 8.

One of the best live comedy shows involving dating is coming to Echo Park! Comedian Lane Moore will be bringing "Tinder Live" to The Echo on Saturday, September 11, where she will be joined by Grace Helbig and actress Mara Wilson. Tinder Live! consists of a totally improvised, anything-can-happen interactive comedy show full of helpful and ridiculous Tinder tips, tricks, real-time swiping, and messaging (and sometimes even real-time phone calls with Tinder matches)! Ben Platt to Perform at the Hollywood Bowl

To promote his latest release Reverie, Ben Platt has scheduled all-ages shows at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, April 8, 2022, with opener Jake Wesley Rogers. You can also see Ben Platt live when he headlines the Santa Barbara Bowl on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

Contest: 'Peter & the Wolf' at the Hollywood Bowl

We have another great event happening under the stars this summer at the Hollywood Bowl! Next week, the Hollywood Bowl will team up with Academy-Award winning actress, producer, and philanthropist Viola Davis when she shares her powerful voice as the narrator for Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf on Thursday, July 15. Conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra will join Viola Davis in leading Prokofiev’s Haydn-inspired symphony and selections from Margaret Bonds’ Montgomery Variations. Written in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Selma-to-Montgomery marches, the Variations are a cycle of spirituals that were lost, restored, and finally performed for the first time in 2018.
