Coachella 2021 Postponed due to COVID-19

It looks like we're going to have to wait a little longer to experience Coachella again, Scenestar readers. Coachella 2021 and Stagecoach 2021 will not be taking place in April, as scheduled, according to Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser. "We look forward to when the events may return," Kaiser said in a tweet last Friday announcing that he had signed the public health order that you can read here. The festival is not actually officially canceled at this time and there are unconfirmed rumors that Coachella 2021 was scheduled to move to October 2021, regardless.

Goldenvoice has yet to officially announce that Coachella 2021 and Stagecoach 2021 are moving once again due to current global coronavirus transmission concerns. One of the biggest and best-known festivals in the U.S. could be moving once again from their originally rescheduled dates: Friday, October 9, to Sunday, October 11, (Weekend 1) and Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, (Weekend 2) to Friday, April 9, to Sunday, April 11, 2021 (Weekend 1) and Friday, April 16, to Sunday, April 18, 2021 (Weekend 2). Stagecoach was to take place from Friday, April 23, to Sunday, April 25, 2021.

No details have been released on whether the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will still feature performances by headliners—Frank Ocean, Rage Against The Machine, and Travis Scott on both festival weekends in any updated lineup.

Here we go again, Scenestar readers. Goldenvoice has officially announced that Coachella 2020 and Stagecoach 2020 are moving once again due to current global coronavirus transmission concerns. One of the biggest and best-known festivals in the U.S. is moving from originally rescheduled dates: Friday, October 9, to Sunday, October 11, (Weekend 1) and Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, (Weekend 2) to Friday, April 9, to Sunday, April 11, 2021 (Weekend 1) and Friday, April 16, to Sunday, April 18, 2021 (Weekend 2). Stagecoach will be taking place from Friday, April 23, to Sunday, April 25, 2021. Nine Inch Nails Cancel Their 2020 L.A. Tour Date

We're both excited and sad to see Nine Inch Nails announce an L.A. "The Cold and Black and Infinite Tour" date, while at the same time canceling in one fell swoop. According to their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts, Nine Inch Nails has revealed that they will no longer be performing in the Los Angeles edition of Primavera Sound in 2020. The band even released 2020 tour merch to commemorate the tour that never was, with proceeds going to local food banks. The inaugural edition of Primavera Sound L.A. is currently scheduled to take place at Los Angeles State Historic Park from Saturday, September 19, to Sunday, September 20. No news on whether anyone else in this year's festival lineup will no be performing either or if the festival is canceled at press time.

The Strokes Postpone Their Show at The Forum

Fans can now look forward to seeing The Strokes perform in support of their latest release The New Abnormal next year! Their previously announced North American tour stop at The Forum that was scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 14, then rescheduled to Friday, May 29, is now moving to Saturday, May 15, 2021. Alvvays and King Princess are still opening the show.

New Music Video: Run The Jewels "Ooh LA LA"

Run the Jewels has released a new music video for "Ooh LA LA," a track from their upcoming release RTJ4. The video, directed by Brian & Vanessa Beletic, features Killer Mike and El-P waking up on a day that there is no monetary system. Zach De La Rocha of Rage Against the Machine also makes a cameo in their new music video.

The Rolling Stones Postpone Show at Rose Bowl

We got some bad news for local fans of The Rolling Stones. The band has postponed their North American No Filter US Tour 2019 due to illness. Mick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot tour at this time, as he needs medical treatment. The band was scheduled to perform at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday, May 11.

Massive Attack Postpone Their U.S. Tour

UPDATE: Tour dates have now been rescheduled

For those of you that have been waiting almost five years for the return of Massive Attack, you may have to wait a bit longer to see them live in Los Angeles. The band has announced that they will be postponing their upcoming Mezzanine XX1 North American tour dates due to illness. The postponement affects upcoming Massive Attack tour dates in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium on Friday, March 29; Saturday, March 30; and Sunday, March 31. This is also bad news for those of you planning on heading up to Northern California to see them live at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, on Thursday, March 28th, and down south at Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU in San Diego, CA, on Tuesday, April 2. Rescheduled tour dates will be announced on Thursday, March 14.
