Saturday is looking good, Scenestar readers. We're ready to dance though and what better way than with the sounds of our pick for Show of the Night: RÜFÜS DU SOL! The Australian indie dance group is headlining Los Angeles State Historic Park tonight as a follow-up to their electric Coachella 2019. Fellow festival acts Bob Moses and Lastlings will also be performing and Do Lab will also be in the house with a special art installation.

Morrissey and Interpol at the Hollywood Bowl

There's yet another Morrissey tour date with Interpol to look forward to! Besides their SOLD OUT tour date FivePoint Amphitheatre on Saturday, October 5, Morrissey and Interpol have announced that their tour finale will take place at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, October 26. Morrissey is on tour in support of his covers album, California Son.

We made it to the weekend yet again, Scenestar readers. It's also the last day in May so let's make the most of it by checking out our Show of the Night selection: Jai Wolf! As part of The Cure to Loneliness Tour, Jai Wolf will headline the first of two consecutive nights booked at Shrine Expo Hall, in support of his debut album release. There goes another, Scenestar readers. For those of you not at Stagecoach 2019, you can head over to Hollywood for a date with our Show of the Night selection: Big Red Machine! Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and Aaron Dessner of The National will bring their new supergroup Big Red Machine (Named after the Cincinnati Reds championship teams of the 1970s) to the Hollywood Palladium tonight where the experimental indie folk-rock band will play tracks from their self-titled debut release. Opening the show will be Richard Reed Perry of Arcade Fire perform Quiet River of Dust.

November is finally here, Scenestar readers! Time is flying by and we're ready to kick off this "Showvember" with our selection for Show of the Night: Morrissey! The former Smiths frontman will be spending Dia de los Muertos with us here in "MozAngeles" with opener Joan Jett & the Blackhearts at Microsoft Theater tonight in support of latest release Low in High School. You can also see Morrissey perform a set at Tropicália Music & Taco Festival which is taking place on Saturday, November 3, and Sunday, November 4, at Queen Mary Events Park with fellow headliner Cardi B.

Morrissey at Aragon Ballroom, Chicago 11/21/06

Ten years ago, I was on top of the world. Morrissey—yes, Morrissey—€”announced a U.S. tour, including TWO back-to-back nights in Chicago at venues across the street from each other. Needless to say, I glued myself to my computer, hopped on Ticketmaster and paid an arm and a leg for tickets to both shows. The blessed two days finally arrived, and on the second night, Morrissey proceeded to become violently ill and ran off the stage after only about 15 minutes. Sigh.
