Ghost9 to Headline El Rey Theatre

Coming to Los Angeles early next year is South Korean act Ghost9! The K-pop act will be making their Los Angeles (and U.S.) live debut at El Rey Theatre on Saturday, January 15., as part of their upcoming North American "Into The Now" meet & live tour.

Here we go, Scenestar readers. "Showvember" keeps on rocking with a hometown performance by our Show of the Night: Lovelytheband! The Los Angeles-based indie-pop trio is co-headlining with Orange County's own Sir Sly at the Fonda Theatre tonight, before heading south to do it all over again at House of Blues Anaheim on Sunday, December 19, when they'll perform tracks from their latest release Conversations with Myself About You. Cannons will be opening both shows.

We made it, Scenestar readers. It's another weekend in L.A. and "Rocktober" brings us plenty of options which include a hometown tour date by our Show of the Night: Phoebe Bridgers! As we previously announced, Phoebe Bridgers will be playing the last of two local shows in support of Punisher, at the Greek Theatre tonight as part of her "Reunion Tour." Matty Healy of The 1975 is the surprise scheduled opener.

Cuco to Headline a Show at Shrine Expo Hall

Los Angeles singer-songwriter Omar Banos A.K.A. Cuco is back with a hometown show as well! You can see Cuco live when he headlines the Shrine Expo Hall on Monday, November 1, when he plays in support of his latest release Para Mi. Joining Cuco on Dia de los Muertos will be opener Boy Pablo.

Mayer Hawthorne: Two Shows at the Wiltern

Mayer Hawthorne is back again with a new tour and a pair of local headlining shows! The multi-talented producer will embark on his "Rare Changes Tour" in the fall with the tour kicking off at The Observatory in Santa Ana on Wednesday, October 27, and wrapping up at the Wiltern on Thursday, December 2.

Carla Morrison Live Stream on Valentine's Day

Latin Alternative icon Carla Morrison is performing in Los Angeles after all this year! She was originally scheduled to perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Saturday, February 6, which was going to be her first show in Los Angeles since 2017. Instead, Carla Morrison is giving her fans another chance to see her play her hits (new and old) this weekend when she streams her live performance at The Paramount on Sunday, February 14, at 6:30 p.m.

Original Amoeba Hollywood Location to Close

Sad news for music lovers that didn't get to visit the original location in Hollywood before it closed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Amoeba Music has announced that its location at 6400 Sunset Blvd will be closing permanently. They will now be concentrating on opening their new location at 6200 Hollywood Blvd when it is safe to do so. You can still order new record releases and old favorites via their online store until then. Amoeba projected that they wouldn't be able to reopen until the fall so it made more sense to concentrate on the grand opening of their new location instead of attempting to open based on current projections. You can help employees of Amoeba Music through the pandemic by donating to their Go Fund Me fundraiser as well here. Their new Hollywood location will still host in-store performances, signings, and more of what made Amoeba Music adored and unique in the music community. Unfortunately, their old (current) location will not get a proper farewell.

We hope you're having a great Wednesday, Scenestar readers. If you're willing to head out tonight, we recommend dancing the night away with our conveniently named Show of the Night artist pick: The Rapture! As we previously announced, the indie dance act will be playing the second of three shows at El Rey Theatre with Luke Jenner Band and Ben White opening the show. They will play one last local tour date on Thursday, March 12.
