Devendra Banhart Has A FREE Show At LACMA

The multi-talented Devendra Banhart has an event this month that will combine all his artistic talents in one afternoon! Hosted by LACMA, this upcoming event on Sunday, June 28, at 4:00 p.m. will feature Devendra Banhart discussing his book I Left My Noodle on Ramen Street and performing a FREE set with his band. Devendra Banhart had his artwork displayed last year at the Reserve Ames art gallery.

Panel w/ Pussy Riot At Mack Sennett Studios

Courtesy of The Voice Project, controversial political rockers Pussy Riot will be here in Los Angeles! Nadya and Masha from Pussy Riot will participate in a panel conversation at Mack Sennett Studios on Monday, April 7, at 10:00 p.m. The panel will include Shepard Fairey (of Obey), Wayne Kramer (of MC5), Anne Litt (of KCRW), and Pyortr Verzilov (of Voina), with Hunter Heaney and Chris Holmes moderating the event.

Rodriguez Headlines Luckman Arts Complex

Another Coachella 2013 act has scheduled a show in Los Angeles next year! The star of the Academy Award-winning documentary film Searching For Sugarman, Sixto Rodriguez will perform live at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex on Saturday, May 31.

Today, our Show Of The Night features one of our favorite artists, Hanni El Khatib, playing a FREE show tonight at Alex's Bar in Long Beach. Also joining Hanni El Khatib will be Jacuzzi Boys so be sure to RSVP to get into the show. Tomorrow, both will be playing together again at the Bootleg Bar.

Miguel Atwood-Ferguson To Play First Fridays

One of the best free concerts of 2010 had to be one of Grand Performances' shows featuring Miguel Atwood-Ferguson at California Plaza when he teamed up with Scenestar favorites Bilal, Chris Dave and Flying Lotus for a memorable night of great music. Now you can experience the magic once more in 2011 when Miguel Atwood-Ferguson headlines the next installment of First Fridays at the Natural History Museum! Miguel Atwood-Ferguson will be joined by some "special guests" along with KCRW DJs Anthony Valadez and Aaron Byrd for the monthly event on Friday, Feb. 4.

Tickets to First Fridays are on sale now via Ticketweb for $15.00 plus service fees for the concert + museum pass. L.A. Bands Sing for 826LA's Chickens in Love

Local non-profit organization 826LA is hosting an online pledge-a-thon, entitled Chickens in Love, in which you vote for your favorite songs, written by 826LA students and covered by such notable local acts as Cold War Kids, She & Him and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, among others. To listen to the songs and pledge your vote, visit the Chickens in Love pledge page. You can pledge for more than one song and as often as you like. Pledges will be accepted until April 30.

Ira Glass of This American Life At Royce Hall

Ira Glass, host of radio program and television show This American Life, will speak at UCLA's Royce Hall for a little show he likes to call "Radio Stories and Other Stories." The event will take place on Saturday, March 27.

Ira will be discussing crafting the art and story of This American Life, sharing his fascination with stories, and he will conclude with a brief Q&A session.

The KCRW folks convinced Ira to do two shows, at 7 p.m. and a special late night edition at 10 p.m.!
