Outside Lands Reveal Their 2021 Festival Lineup

Our favorite Bay Area summer music festival has announced their lineup for 2021, Scenestar readers! Outside Lands will be skipping 2020 and coming back to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park from Friday, August 6, to Sunday, August 8. This year's festival lineup includes headliners Lizzo, The Strokes, and Tame Impala. Other acts on the bill include Beach House, Bonobo, J Balvin, Khruangbin, Polo & Pan, Tyler, The Creator, Caroline Polachek, Vampire Weekend, and many more. Check out the lineup above. Tickets for Outside Lands will go on sale on Thursday, June 25, at 10 a.m. via Frontgate Tickets.

Ohana Fest 2020 Move Their Festival to 2021

Fans will have to wait another year to celebrate the fifth edition of Ohana Fest. The festival will still be taking place at Doheny State Beach from Friday, September 24, to Sunday, September 26, with Kings of Leon, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, and Pearl Jam returning to headline next year. Other artists still scheduled to perform in the lineup: Broken Social Scene, Cavetown, Gang of Youths, Dermot Kennedy, Mac DeMarco, Mon Laferte, My Morning Jacket, Ed O'Brien (of Radiohead), Pretenders, Real Estate, Maggie Rogers, Sharon Von Etten, Yola, and many more.

Coachella 2020 Postponed Until April 2021

Here we go again, Scenestar readers. Goldenvoice has officially announced that Coachella 2020 and Stagecoach 2020 are moving once again due to current global coronavirus transmission concerns. One of the biggest and best-known festivals in the U.S. is moving from originally rescheduled dates: Friday, October 9, to Sunday, October 11, (Weekend 1) and Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, (Weekend 2) to Friday, April 9, to Sunday, April 11, 2021 (Weekend 1) and Friday, April 16, to Sunday, April 18, 2021 (Weekend 2). Stagecoach will be taking place from Friday, April 23, to Sunday, April 25, 2021. No details have been released on whether the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will still feature performances by headliners—Frank Ocean, Rage Against The Machine, and Travis Scott. on both festival weekends next year.

Cruel World Festival Is Officially Canceled

Bad news Cruel World Festival ticketholders. Goldenvoice has officially canceled it's SOLD OUT festival at the Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park that was rescheduled to take place on Saturday, May 2, to Saturday, September 12. The lineup consisted of headlining sets by Bauhaus, Blondie, and Morrissey. The list of curated Goth and New Wave acts also included sets by The Church, Cold Cave, Devo, Echo & The Bunnymen, Gary Numan, The Psychedelic Furs, Public Image Ltd., She Wants Revenge, Violent Femmes, and many more.

Primavera Sound Los Angeles is Moving to 2021

One of this year's most anticipated music festivals is moving to next year! Primavera Sound was scheduled to kick off the inaugural edition of Primavera Sound L.A. at Los Angeles State Historic Park on Saturday, September 19, to Sunday, September 20, but because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the music festival has announced that the festival will now be taking place on Saturday, September 18, to Sunday, September 19, 2021, instead. No festival lineup has been revealed at press time, but Nine Inch Nails was scheduled to perform this year.

Nine Inch Nails Cancel Their 2020 L.A. Tour Date

We're both excited and sad to see Nine Inch Nails announce an L.A. "The Cold and Black and Infinite Tour" date, while at the same time canceling in one fell swoop. According to their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts, Nine Inch Nails has revealed that they will no longer be performing in the Los Angeles edition of Primavera Sound in 2020. The band even released 2020 tour merch to commemorate the tour that never was, with proceeds going to local food banks. The inaugural edition of Primavera Sound L.A. is currently scheduled to take place at Los Angeles State Historic Park from Saturday, September 19, to Sunday, September 20. No news on whether anyone else in this year's festival lineup will no be performing either or if the festival is canceled at press time.

New Music Video: Run The Jewels "Ooh LA LA"

Run the Jewels has released a new music video for "Ooh LA LA," a track from their upcoming release RTJ4. The video, directed by Brian & Vanessa Beletic, features Killer Mike and El-P waking up on a day that there is no monetary system. Zach De La Rocha of Rage Against the Machine also makes a cameo in their new music video.

Hotel Cafe to Host UnCancelled Music Festival

The music community has been hit hard during the COVID-19 crisis. As a small, independently-owned venue, The Hotel Café is no exception to that. Music venues across the world have had to close their doors with no idea of when—or if—they’ll be able to reopen. It’s an uncertain time for everyone. In an effort to preserve the culture of live music, and in an effort to support their staff and community of artists, The Hotel Café has partnered with the UnCancelled Music Festival through StageIt, where the Hollywood music venue will have a branded, featured virtual stage running from Thursday, April 2 through Thursday, April 9, where fans can pay what they want to check it out. Hamish Anderson, Colbie Caillat, Zane Carney, William Fitzsimmons, Lili Kershaw, Emily Kinney, Meiko, JP Saxe, Vincint, and more are scheduled to perform.
