Happy Coachella announcement day, Scenestar readers. Hump Day has some great excuses to go out to a music venue and a good one taking place in Downtown Los Angeles is also our Show of the Night: Current Joys! Nevada native Nick Rattigan is bringing Current Joys to Los Angeles tonight in support of their current album release East My Love, with a show at the Bellwether. Opening the show is L.A.'s very own Dutch Interior.

Suppose you can't get into our Show of the Night. In that case, your other live music options include performances by A Beacon School, Cristela Alonzo, Fred Armisen, Chase Atlantic, Cloud Nothings, Gemini, Gold Star, Eddie Izzard, Kitty Craft, Clara La San, Vincent Lima, L.S. Failure to Headline the Regent Theater

Los Angeles' own Failure is hitting the road! The alternative rock act is set to tour in support of her latest release Wild Type Droid, with a local stop at The Regent on Friday, July 8. In addition to the live show, Failure will also open their performance with a special preview of a forthcoming documentary on the band.

Destroyer to Headline a Show at the Belasco

Dan Bejar a.k.a. Destroyer is hitting the road in support of his current release, Have We Met! In conjunction the 30 minute tour documentary of the same name, Destroyer will be headlining an all-ages show at The Belasco on Friday, May 20, 2022.

Dave Chappelle to Perform at Hollywood Bowl

For those of you that couldn't make it to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas back in July, Dave Chappelle will be giving his fans in Los Angeles a chance to see him live! You can see Dave Chappelle and friends live when he takes the stage at the Hollywood Bowl on Thursday, October 7. The show will feature a set of stand-up as well as a screening of his "Untitled" documentary.

Third Eye Blind Documentary at Masonic Lodge

Bay Area alternative rock act Third Eye Blind have a special event coming up next month! The band will be screening their new album's companion documentary "How We Hold Each Other Right Now: The Making of Our Bande Apart" at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Tuesday, September 28, with an acoustic performance following the screening.

"LA Originals" Documentary Premieres on Netflix

"The culture has to be louder than the hate" was one of our favorite quotes from the just-released "LA Originals" documentary on Netflix. The Netflix original documentary tells the story of Los Angeles natives Estevan Oriol and Mister Cartoon as they use their talents to influence the culture and the music scene. The documentary includes interviews with Blink-182, Cypress Hill, Eminem, Kobe Bryant, Snoop Dogg, and more as they tell of their experiences with the pair that used Chicano culture, tattoos, music videos, photography, and cholo iconography to blend the genres by influencing the world with their works of art.

Coachella Documentary to Premiere on YouTube

Even though the festival was rescheduled to later this year, we can still look forward to Coachella in April! Goldenvoice has officially announced that their Coachella: 20 Years In The Desert documentary will premiere on Friday, April 10, the date that Coachella 2020 was originally going to kick off. Coachella 2020 will be taking place on Friday, October 9, to Sunday, October 11, (Weekend 1) and Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, (Weekend 2) at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Frank Ocean, Rage Against The Machine, and Travis Scott will still be headlining both festival weekends.

Ministry & Cold Cave at the Teragram Ballroom

Industrial metal act Ministry will be making their return next month! Performing in support of the documentary Industrial Accident: The Story Of Wax Trax! Records, Ministry will be teaming up with Cold Cave for a FREE intimate show at Teragram Ballroom on Tuesday, April 23.
