Contest: Strawberry Fuzz at the Troubadour

Venice Beach-based indie-punk band Strawberry Fuzz will be playing a hometown adjacent show this month! You can see them live when Strawberry Fuzz headlines the Troubadour on Tuesday, January 17, in support of their upcoming album release, Wasting My Time. Joining Strawberry Fuzz will be openers Beginners and Cheer Up Club.

Franc Moody Album Release Show at The Novo

We have a record release show coming up featuring Scenestar favorite Franc Moody shows to look forward to! The London-based dance collective will be back to perform at The Novo on Thursday, November 3, in support of their upcoming record release Into The Ether.

Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Fonda Theatre

One of our favorite hometown acts will be playing a "secret show" taking place on April Fool's Day! The Red Hot Chili Peppers had previously announced some local "Global Stadium Tour" dates at SoFi Stadium with Beck and Thundercat on Sunday, July 31, and Petco Park on Wednesday, July 22, with Haim and Thundercat opening that show. Now besides playing the first-ever Amoeba Music in-store at their new Hollywood location on Thursday, April 7, at noon, the worst kept secret to the band's superfans is their other intimate show planned to take place at the Fonda Theatre with opener Irontom on Friday, April 1.

Katelyn Tarver to Perform at Moroccan Lounge

Indie pop act Katelyn Tarver will be hitting the road later this year! She will be playing an intimate album release tour date at the Moroccan Lounge on Sunday, December 19, when she plays in support of her latest album release Subject to Change.

Amoeba Hollywood to Reopen on April 1st

It's time to get excited, Scenestar readers. This is NOT a cruel April Fool's joke either, because Amoeba Music is finally BACK! The Hollywood location has announced that its new location is opening next week following the closing of its 6400 Sunset Blvd closing permanently. They will now be opening their new location at 6200 Hollywood Blvd on Thursday, April 1. Amoeba will have new temporary hours as well: Monday - Sunday 11 am - 8 pm (Buy counter open 11 am - 7 pm).

The iconic record store will be following all health and safety guidelines from local city and county public health departments, including social distancing and mandatory wearing of face coverings over the nose and mouth. More details on Amoeba Music Hollywood are below, and we're as excited as you are to see the new location. See you there!

The Red Pears FREE In-Store Set at Amoeba

El Monte's own The Red Pears have a FREE performance coming up for Los Angelinos next month! Besides their SOLD OUT show at the Glass House on Saturday, December 28, The Red Pears will also be taking the stage at Amoeba Music on Wednesday, January 15, at 5 p.m. in support of their latest EP release Alicia.
