The Mars Volta are finally back after not playing in Los Angeles in over a decade! The last time the band played locally was when they opened for Soundgarden at The Kia Forum in 2011. After teasing the coordinates to Grand Park over the weekend, the band has set up a "VoltaCube" listening station, with a stage set-up nearby in Downtown Los Angeles starting today despite no official announcement of the band actually performing. No phones are allowed inside of the cube.
Fans can listen to a preview of the band's newest music since 2012's Noctourniquet starting on Sunday, June 19, to Tuesday, June 21, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

That stage is always there for community events. I would be more excited about a performance if there was gear set up.
