Good news to live music lovers that were looking forward to the 2020 Cruel World Music Festival. Goldenvoice has hinted at a return of the music festival in 2022 with a video featuring a vintage notebook with Devo lyrics written on them and in the background.
The 2020 edition of the music festival was officially canceled last year after the COVID-19 pandemic kept the festival from taking place at the Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park that was rescheduled to take place originally on Saturday, May 2, then Saturday, September 12.
Now Cruel World is returning on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Brookside at the Rose Bowl with headliners Bauhaus, Blondie, and Morrissey. The list of curated Goth and New Wave acts also included sets by The Church, Cold Cave, Devo, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Psychedelic Furs, Public Image Ltd., Violent Femmes, and many more.
Morrissey will have his own presale on Thursday, June 10, at 10 a.m. Code: BONFIRE
There will also be a presale on Friday, June 11, at 10 a.m. which you can register for here. Code: WHIPIT. Remaining inventory from the presale will be sold at 12 p.m. noon.
We'll keep you posted on more details on the return of Cruel World Fest next year, Scenestar readers!
