INFO: August 22nd: Six Year Anniversary w/ The Strokes at Pehrspace
Pehrspace is nuts! I'm worried about people's safety already.

The Strokes you are referring to are not playing at pehrspace. A different band called the strokes is scheduled to play. Please contact sean carnage for details and clarification. Pehrspace does not mean to disappoint anyone.

@pehrspace You should clarify that it's a different band. Not just say (not a cover band) What's that supposed to mean? FAIL on Pehrspace, you just killed a bunch of hipsters hopes.

Why would you name yourself "The Strokes" if another band exists by that name that is well known? Also, The Strokes on the site links to a music video by The Strokes every knows with a note that says "Not a cover band". Pretty confusing there. Just sayin'

ha, the strokes + their roadies would fill pehrspace. god can't even imagine if people showed up to see the strokes play there.

Why would you even post about this show...I'm just saying. It was intended to be a secret show for a reason.
Posted by: ralph | Aug 15, 2011 at 03:05 PM
Hi Ralph. Secret shows aren't so secret if the promoter posts who the "secret band" is on their website with a link with more than a week's heads up. Sean Carnage should have announced who was playing the day of in the afternoon or had the band show up and play a set as a surprise. Even then, it would be kind of insane. Admirable that he would book them as a treat for those who have supported his Monday night shows but this much lead time is bad safetywise. Welcome to the world of smartphones and the internet. Not too many "secret shows" left.

Don't forget the two M.I.A. secret shows at Temporary Spaces!

To mention 'The Strokes (not a cover band)'' is attention seeking at it's most contrived and could very well have gotten Pehrspace shut down. Good job Sean Carnage or Kyle Mabson?......... what better way to celebrate an anniversary than to potentially endanger your venue, your regulars, and your performers.
What if 'Pehrspace' hadn't caught this, and this mis-information had gone viral, imagine the slew of people who would of shown up and how they would have reacted. Property damage.... fights, who knows....
Thank goodness you guys caught onto this before real havoc could have ensued.

i would not fear any damage/fights by strokes fans.
