Devo @ The Music Box at the Fonda: Night 1 vs. Night 2

Devo played at The Music Box at the Fonda this week to promote the re-issue and re-mastering of two of their albums, the first evening reserved for the group's debut breakthrough, Q: Are We Not Men? A: We are Devo! with the second showcasing the band's commercial success, Freedom of Choice.

Immensely influential to so many musical acts of the past and present, Devo proved they are still as relevant as ever.  Both sold out concerts, supported by the eclectic and puzzling Reggie Watts, offered attendees unique and different experiences.  As fans tend to be more passionate about the Q & A album, did Night 1 reign supreme?  Or did the tried (and tired) "Whip It" still resonate amongst the die-hard fans in the crowd on Night 2?

New Music Video - Fan Death "Reunited"

Fan Death is back with a interesting new music video for their track "Reunited" off their latest album A Coin For The Well. Check it out and see if you can name all the icons "appearing" on this new music video, especially a special message from Billy Corgan at the end of the video. Unless you want to travel to Vancouver to their Halloween show, there's no scheduled tour dates yet for Fan Death but we'll keep you posted when they book Los Angeles Scenestar readers!

Cancelled: Michael & Michael Have Issues Live @ Music Box

Bad news The Scenestar reader. Comedy duo Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter of MTV's "The State" fame who are currently on Comedy Central for their own show "Michael and Michael Have Issues" have cancelled their Los Angeles live performance this Thursday, October 22nd at the Henry Fonda Music Box (originally moved from the Orpheum Theatre) due to last minute scheduling conflicts.

It should have been good times for all but we at The Scenestar hope they come back in the near future. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

New Music Video: 8-Bit Trip

No no Scenestar reader, this isn't a new band but a pretty cool music video for those of you that are nostalgic for Legos and old school NES. The background music has the familiar sound of the 8-bit NES and kinda reminds us of fighting mini bosses in Mega Man but we dig it. Check it out and enjoy!

Yes, it's an old school song but I thought I'd share this great new music video for Nike featuring fellow Los Angelino Paul Rodriguez Jr skating through our hometown. P-Rod was recently back home for the X Games. Kobe and of course Ice Cube make cameos as well as our beautiful city of Los Angeles where for us it seems every day is a good day. Dethklok Joins Mastodon On Tour

Do you like your "World Famous" metal bands fictional and animated? Do you folks like real coffee? Real coffee, from Columbia? If you do then the following news is for you. Dethklok will be joining Mastodon along with Converge and High On Fire for a 34 date North American tour this Fall with the final tour date scheduled for Los Angeles on Wednesday, November 11th at the Hollywood Palladium.

Dethklok has a new album, Dethalbum II, out September 29th. New Video: Phoenix "1901" (Acoustic?)

Ever wondered how well those Photobooth videos with the background on would turn out on a Mac? Well, looks like Phoenix gave it a try & uploaded a video they did themselves of their single "1901". They'll be in town playing a sold out Sunday, June 28th at the Wiltern in support of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix with one of our new favorite bands, Amazing Baby. No word yet if Phoenix will use the same visuals that night but we're hoping for more tickets to be released so we can see if they do.
