Morrissey Cancels Show After Being Hit With Bottle

Morrissey's ill fated Europe tour continues to add to its series of incidents following a collapse by the Moz a few weeks back in Swindon. This time it's a fan instigated cancellation at tonight's show in Liverpool's Echo Arena. After opening with "This Charming Man" and a bit into "Black Cloud", a concert attendee launched a beer bottle at Morrissey while he was shaking hands with fans in the front row. Following being hit in the head, Morrissey then composed himself then said "Goodbye" before walking off the stage with the band as seen in the footage above.

What a scary time Saturday for The Scenestar staff when one of our favorite artists, Morrissey collapsed yesterday at his gig at Swindon's Oasis Leisure Centre. Morrissey has since been released from Swindon's Great Western Hospital in much better condition.

Unfortunately for Morrissey fans in Bournemouth, he has postponed. Ticketholders for both yesterday's Swindon show and tomorrow's Bournemouth shows are advised to hold onto their tickets for reschedule or refund news. Morrissey will try and restart the tour this Tuesday, October 27th at Royal Albert Hall in London. We at The Scenestar wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you this December Morrissey! Morrissey In Hospital After Collapsing On Stage

Bad news Morrissey fans. According to the Press Association and various sources, Morrissey was taken to hospital tonight after collapsing on stage with breathing difficulties. Morrissey was performing at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon this Saturday, October 24th. At around the time he took the stage at 9pm tonight, Morrissey strained and winced through his opening number "This Charming Man," according to eyewitnesses, before he fell to his knees, collapsing unconscious on stage. The curtains closed as two band members carried him off and cleared the stage before a crew member announced 25 minutes later that Morrissey has left the building ill. Morrissey was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon after ambulances responded to a call concerning a 50-year-old man who was reported to be suffering from respiratory problems and was unconscious.

A spokeswoman for Swindon's Great Western Hospital later stated that Morrissey was brought in to the Accident and Emergency department this evening and was seen by their medical team, announcing that his condition is "stable". No word yet on what caused him to collapse but we'll have our eyes peeled for more details. No word yet on rescheduling or canceling future Morrissey tour dates. Cafe Tacuba Win MTV Leyenda Award & Plan Return Tour

Two of The Scenestar's most influencial forces became one when Scenestar favorite Cafe Tacuba won MTV's Los Premios Awards show Leyenda Award at the Gibson Amphitheatre this past Thursday. To the surprise of Cafe Tacuba and the Gibson crowd, Scenestar favorite Morrissey presented the MTV Leyenda Award to Mexico's Cafe Tacuba for 20 years of being one of the most influencial bands of their generation. The visibly moved members of Cafe Tacuba accepted the award and indirectly thanked Morrissey for his inspiration in influencing their music as well as their fans.

Talk about being in a pickle of choices! As you probably already know, Morrissey will be playing a bunch of shows in Southern California including shows at the Pomona Fox Theater on Monday, December 7th and at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Thursday, December 10th. Morrissey To Sell "Swords" W/ Ventura Tour Date

No Scenestar readers, Hector and the rest of his gang aren't being armed to take each other out at the Majestic Theater in Ventura. Morrissey is having a special presale today for those who preorder a copy of Morrissey's new compilation album Swords.

Pricing depends on the version of Swords you choose. There's an 18 track digital download of B sides from 2004 to 2009, handpicked by Morrissey for $9.99 or a limited edition 26 track digital download featuring eight previously unreleased live tracks from Morrissey's 2009 World Tour for $13.99.

Swords will be released to the public on Tuesday, November 3rd. Tickets to see Morrissey at the Ventura Majestic Theater without the album will go on sale this Saturday, October 10th at 10:00am.

Looks like we're finally getting some clarity Scenestar readers. Morrissey is finally getting on-sale dates and Las Vegas gets to take the first shot at getting tickets to see him on the Swords tour on Friday, December 4th! Other tour dates close to Los Angeles are still being tweeked but we're glad that we're finally seeing some progress on the Morrissey front.

Morrissey Returns To Play "Moz Angeles"

Mozangelenos rejoice! According to True To You, Morrissey will finally have a headlining Los Angeles tour date in December in support of Years Of Refusal as well as a new Morrissey compilation, Swords which includes a bonus disc of eight songs recorded live in Warsaw during Morrissey's 2009 tour. Swords will be released on October 26th on CD and Double LP.
