We're at the halfway point of December, but there's still plenty of cool concert options, Scenestar readers. Tonight we're kicking off our week with Lord Huron, our Show of the Night pick! In support of recent release Lonesome Dreams, the L.A. folk band has a hometown date at El Rey Theatre tonight with opener Escondido. The show is is a benefit concert for the David Lynch Foundation, a nonprofit that funds Transcendental Meditation (TM) programs for at-risk students, veterans with PTSD, women who are survivors of domestic violence, and homeless and incarcerated individuals.
It's Sunday, which means it's time to say goodbye to the weekend, Scenestar readers. It's a tough choice for our Show of the Night, but we selected a rare tour date by one of our favorite artists, Yusuf Islam, AKA Cat Stevens! For the first time since he performed at El Rey Theatre in 2009, the legendary musician has an L.A. tour date, headlining Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live tonight, as part of his Peace Train … Late Again U.S. Tour.

One that's worth hitting the road for is a performance by Ryan Adams, our Show of the Night! Ryan Adams will team up with Jenny Lewis to perform at the Fox Theater in Pomona tonight. His other local dates are the 88.5 KCSN Benefit Show on December 12 and two shows next week at the Wiltern on Wednesday, December 17, and Thursday, December 18, in support of his current self-titled release.
