"Faster Pussycat Faster" is the first single off Paul Oakenfold's 2006 release A Lively Mind featuring vocalist Brittany Murphy. Actress and recording artist Brittany Murphy passed away today due to cardiac arrest, Sunday, December 20th, 2009 at age 32 (1977 - 2009). Rest In Peace my beautiful friend. You will always be loved and remembered.

Weezer Cancel Remaining Tour Dates

Bad news Weezer fans. Per Rivers Cuomo's doctor's orders, the band has been forced to cancel all their remaining tour dates including their show at UCI Bren Events Center Monday, January 11th. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

This is the aftermath following frontman Rivers Cuomo's bus accident that happened when Weezer was headed to Boston for their show Monday at Agganis Arena. As of now, Weezer's future tour dates are questionable till Rivers Cuomo recovers. We hope for a speedy recovery and we'll keep you posted Scenestar readers on any new Weezer tour dates.

The White Stripes are back! Not in the touring sense we would like but in the form of a new DVD, "Under Great White Northern Lights", now available as a limited edition boxed set. In the summer of 2007, The White Stripes embarked on a cross-country Canadian tour to accomplish their goal of performing in every province and territory across the expansive northern nation. This film documents The White Stripes' Canadian journey culminating with their 10th Anniversary show in Nova Scotia. You can buy the DVD now on www.WhiteStripes.com. Contest: Third Annual Christmas Sweater Festival @ El Rey Theatre

It looks like it's that time again to get into the holiday spirit and why not do it with a night of great music? This year, 3rd Annual Christmas Sweater Festival is in full effect with some great bands such as Castledoor, The Deadly Syndrome, Eskimohunter, The Pity Party, Signals & 400 Blows! The bands are playing this Saturday, December 19th at the El Rey Theater in the name of charity.

All proceeds from the concert will go to Teen Impact, a program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles for teens and young adults with, or recovering from, cancer. Sound like something that tugs at your heartstrings and musical palette too? Then we have the contest for you!

Mika Miko Play Last Shows Ever @ The Smell

Mika Miko are finally hanging it up for good! After six years together, the band has decided to call it a day and move on. Some band members are going back to school while others are moving on to other projects. Mika Miko though has decided to end it all right were they started it all, Los Angeles. The band has booked three farewell shows at The Smell in downtown Los Angeles. They will be taking place on Wednesday, December 30th, Thursday, December 31st and finally Mika Miko's last show ever will take place on Friday, January 1st, 2010.

Tickets are now on sale for all three Mika Miko shows so don't wait because after the new year there won't be any more chances to catch the band live in its present lineup so take advantage of the chance to say farewell to Mika Miko live at The Smell!
