Contest: Third Annual Christmas Sweater Festival @ El Rey Theatre

It looks like it's that time again to get into the holiday spirit and why not do it with a night of great music? This year, 3rd Annual Christmas Sweater Festival is in full effect with some great bands such as Castledoor, The Deadly Syndrome, Eskimohunter, The Pity Party, Signals & 400 Blows! The bands are playing this Saturday, December 19th at the El Rey Theater in the name of charity.

All proceeds from the concert will go to Teen Impact, a program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles for teens and young adults with, or recovering from, cancer. Sound like something that tugs at your heartstrings and musical palette too? Then we have the contest for you!

New Music Video - The Swimmers "A Hundred Hearts"

Philadelphia's The Swimmers have a new music video for their single "A Hundred Hearts" off their recent release People Are Soft. The Swimmers are currently not on tour but are playing a benefit show for the JMML Foundation in Philadelphia on January 29th at Johnny Brenda's.

New Music Video - Vampire Weekend "Cousins"

Vampire Weekend are back with a new music video for their current single "Cousins" off their newest album Contra out on January 12th. They just recently played a handful of shows but will be back with a headlining show at the Henry Fonda Music Box as well as one last appearance here in 2009 at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show on Sunday, December 13th.

Vampire Weekend To Headline Fonda In 2010

Vampire Weekend sure does love Southern California! After numerous tour dates at random, obscure venues, Vampire Weekend will be headlining at the Henry Fonda Music Box on Tuesday, January 12th in support of their new album Contra. Vampire Weekend has also agreed to play in KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas benefit show on Sunday, December 13th at the Gibson Amphitheatre.

Tickets to see Vampire Weekend at the Henry Fonda Music Box will go on sale this Friday, November 20th at noon while tickets for thier appearance at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas festival go on sale this Saturday, November 21st at noon. Click below to get your tickets!

KROQ Announces Almost Acoustic Christmas Lineup

Tis' the christmas festival season! KROQ has finally announced their line-up for their Almost Acoustic Christmas show taking place Saturday, December 12th and Sunday, December 13th at the Gibson Amphitheatre. This year's line-up on Saturday includes AFI, Rise Against, 30 Seconds To Mars, Alice In Chains, Three Days Grace, Dead By Sunrise & Anberlin. Sunday's line-up includes Muse, 311, Metric, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Slightly Stoopid, The Bravery, White Rabbits and Cage The Elephant.

Tickets for KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas will be available Saturday, November 21st at noon via Ticketmaster with a pre-sale scheduled this week. Tickets are $75.00 each with proceeds benefiting Para Los Ninos and the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center. Click below for more info on each date:

Contest: Playing For Change @ Club Nokia

The award-winning documentary that fast became a YouTube sensation connecting performing artists from all over the world for a cause is coming this week to Los Angeles! Playing For Change will be taking place on Friday, November 13th at Club Nokia with performances by Toots and the Maytals, Ziggy Marley and more! All proceeds from the Platinum Experience tickets sold for this show support the Playing for Change Foundation in building music schools around the world. Winston Calling Benefit @ EchoPlex w/ All Star Lineup!

It's Pixies week here in Los Angeles with their three day show run at the Hollywood Palladium but once they're gone, you're going to want to scratch that Pixies itch again pretty soon but this time you can do it for a good cause.

On Tuesday, December 8th and Wednesday, December 9th, Black Francis (Frank Black of the Pixies) is teaming up with a all-star lineup to host a benefit show at EchoPlex and the Echo! Winston Calling: A Rock & Comedy Benefit will be featuring Black Francis with Flea, members of Pixies, Love & Rockets, She Wants Revenge, Weird Al Yankovic, Michael Penn David J (Love and Rockets/Bauhaus), Grand Duchy (Black Francis & Violet Clark), The 88 plus celebrity DJs.

BRMC, Shirley Manson & More To Play Pablove Benefit

The Pablove Foundation continues with its mission of fighting childhood cancer with love by spreading the word about its work. Currently Dangerbird Records founder Jeff Castelaz is riding for 3000 miles in 30 days to his ultimate destination back home. On Saturday, November 21st, he'll have some friends waiting to play some acoustic tunes for a Pablove benefit show at Avalon!

Scenestar favorites Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Shirley Manson, Tom Morello, Butch Walker and more will be playing acoustic sets to help fundraise for the Pablove Foundation next month giving you the chance to help contribute. All proceeds go towards Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
