We're lucky to have a wide variety of options when it comes to seeing live music in Los Angeles. There are so many different genres, locations, and settings to see your favorite bands when they come to town and play a show. The Los Angeles Board of Tourism asked The Scenestar to select the top nine venues that we thought visitors should check out when visiting L.A. It was tough to narrow it down to nine venues, and we easily could have gone way over that number.
Check out our managing editor Oscar Rangel's top nine venues here. What venues would have been on your list? Let us know by commenting below and sharing your choices. For those of you who plan to visit Los Angeles, be sure to check out our concert calendar to see what shows are taking place while you're here.

Great article, man. I've been to all of those venues many times so I know all that about them but it's fun to read your personal experiences at those shows. A lot of great concerts you've been to!

Great article, I'd have to agree across the board. You might be able to swap in the bootleg bar or Palladium surely, but I can't say any of those venues don't deserve it. You've got your finger on the pulse scenestar, Thanks.

What happened to the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre? I know they do not have too many shows there but still a top venue...
