    Prince Announces Apollo Theater Residency

    Prince The big Live Nation announcement that took place today at 3 p.m. PST was spearheaded by Prince at the Apollo Theater in New York City. Prince was on hand to announce a new 21-date "Welcome 2 America" residency at the Apollo Theater in December, with openers Esperanza Spalding, Maceo Parker, Mint Condition, Janelle Monae, Sheila E, Sinbad, Cassandra Wilson, and many more. The first date is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 10. There are no other details yet on when tickets will go on sale or future tour dates, but we're just happy to have Prince back, playing live shows. We'll keep you updated if any future shows take place here in Los Angeles!
