Southern California fans of ’90s trip-hop group Portishead have been anxiously waiting for the band to return following its exclusive rehearsal show at The Mayan and main stage set at Coachella in 2008. After signing to a new record contract for the release of a fourth studio album, Portishead has scheduled a fall date on Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Hollywood Palladium, according to sources. We don't have any other info just yet on when tickets go on sale or if this show is part of a larger tour, but we're happy that Portishead is coming back with some new material and a live Los Angeles date. We'll keep you posted on any more Portishead developments as they come, Scenestar readers.

Radiohead at the Music Box has some competition for show of the year now. Now we wait for more details and possible opener which we won't hear about for a while..

I dont think Portishead ever tour with an opener. In the past it was always a DJ.

They're no stranger to that venue. They played at the Hollywood Palladium back in 1998. The smallest venue they've played since then is the Mayan back in 2008 before Coachella.

if you're a regular on this site you'll know that the fine folks at the scenestar usually avoid rumors, when they do post a scoop (coachella secret shows, etc.) they are usually DEAD ON. so relax, pal. they probably got a tip and decided to run with it a bit early. this shit happens from time to time in cyber space. last I checked the site is FREE, so don't act like you've been wronged.
