Onitsuka Celebrates "Year of Tiger" With Tansu

Onitsuka is celebrating The Year Of The Tiger by sharing a rare form of art built in the shape of one of their signature shoes! The Onitsuka Tansu art piece is a handcrafted into ornamental wooden chests which were then shaped to look like a Onitsuka sneaker. The form consists of custom drawers and hidden compartments filled with secret treasures as pictured.

Created by Ogura Tansu Ten, a traditional Japanese wood shop spanning nine generations, he built five Onitsuka Tansus that are making their way around the globe and at a music festival near you!

Goldfrapp Adds Bay Area Tour Date

Goldfrapp has just another date to her North American tour which already included a Los Angeles date at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, June 27th. Goldfrapp will also be playing at Oakland's Fox Theater on Saturday, June 26th going on sale on Sunday, April 4th at 10:00am via Ticketmaster for $32.50 each. Deerhunter To Play Pre-Coachella Date

Deerhunter just got added to the list of artists taking advantage of their time in Southern California while playing at Coachella next month. Right before their scheduled slot on Sunday, April 18th, Deerhunter will be playing at the Glass House on Wednesday, April 14th along with The Dub Lab DJs and a very "special guest". For those of you in Northern California, you can also catch them with Spoon at the Fox Theater in Oakland.

Broken Bells Schedule Music Box Date

One of the hottest bands in the past few months is back with another show! James Mercer's (lead vocalist of The Shins) and Brian Burton (Danger Mouse) of Broken Bells are returning to Los Angeles following sold out shows at the Bootleg Theater and the Troubadour with a show at the Henry Fonda Music Box on Wednesday, May 19th. They'll be joined by opener, The Morning Benders. There will also be a show at San Francisco's Regency Ballroom on Friday,, May 21st going on sale on Sunday, April 4th at 10:00am.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Live On Tour

From the small screen to select venues across North America, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is coming to you live this year when they take their show on the road! The popular Cartoon Network animated series will feature the voices of the characters performing songs, screening unreleased segments and will also be joined by Squidbillies. They will hit up San Francisco on Sunday, April 25th at the Regency Ballroom before coming down to Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre on Tuesday, April 27th.

Nas & Damian Marley Team Up For Tour

Two is always better than one, right Scenestar readers? When it comes to shows lately, headlining artists have been pairing up for tours and here comes another tour with that motif. Nas and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley have been working on a new album, Distant Relatives, out on May 18th and now have a tour planned in support of the new release.

Some of the upcoming Nas/Damian Marley West Coast Distant Relatives tour dates beginning on May 21st include the Arcata Community Center, the Oakland Fox Theater, UC Santa Barbara, Harrah's Rincon Open Sky Theater and The Joint in Las Vegas. Los Angeles gets to see them twice when they play Friday, May 28th at the Wiltern and Monday, May 31st at UCLA's Reggae Jazz Festival.
