Spoon has been in the news alot with their new album Transference out this Tuesday, January 19th, the launch of a US tour and also the lack of a proper Los Angeles tour date making fans speculate a possible April festival appearance by the band. Now talk of Spoon not having a Los Angeles tour date can be squashed with the addition of a Spoon "secret" show at El Cid on Monday, January 18th with opener Deep Sea Diver! Tickets for the Spoon show go on sale this Friday, January 15th at 12:00pm noon. Click below to get your tickets to see Spoon live at the intimate El Cid in Silverlake!*
January 18th: Spoon w/ Deep Sea Diver at El Cid
April 13th: Spoon w/ Deerhunter and Micachu & The Shapes at Fox Theater (Oakland, CA)
*UPDATE: A limited amount of tickets will be available in the evening at the door on Monday, January 18th at El Cid. Doors open at 8:00pm.

Tickets were sold out before they even went online. Thanks scalpers for ruining the music industry!!!

yeah, that's a bunch of shit. i was online at noon exactly, and it already said there were 0 tickets available.
Posted by: sc | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:05 PM
That was fast, sold out in less than one minute.
Posted by: tsk | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:05 PM
Yeah, that was a fucking fiasco. Signed in at 12 and didn't get anything. Fucking cocksuckers. Die a slow death, scalpers!
Posted by: BC | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:06 PM
just had that same shit happen! Tix went instantly! SUCH BULLSHIT
Posted by: Matt | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:06 PM
Motherfucking bullshit. I hate groovetickets.
Posted by: Renee | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:07 PM
They really need to figure out a way to prevent these scalpers with 30 computers from buying all tickets and putting them on Craig's List. And agreed BC they should "Die a slow death."
Posted by: billy bob | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:10 PM
El Cid is not that big and I doubt they put more than 50 tix out there. WTF was with the 10 tix limit? Should have been capped at 2
Posted by: robert dean | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:13 PM
Was anyone successful?
Posted by: Sunil | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:14 PM
There can't be that much of a demand for $50+ tickets to see Spoon.
Posted by: BC | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:15 PM
I was able to get one.
Posted by: Ryan | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:17 PM
$20 tix!
Posted by: robert dean | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:17 PM
all small venues should adopt the "thom yorke system"...bust out the ID upon entrance.
Posted by: bryan sensei | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:37 PM
yeah I was not able to get one and I was on at noon sharp. that's some b.s.
Posted by: meriah | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:51 PM
i also couldn't get one despite being on right at noon
Posted by: teddy | Jan 15, 2010 at 12:56 PM
what a joke, that site is awful. why are they promoting a spoon show on a rave website anyways?
Posted by: tron | Jan 15, 2010 at 01:01 PM
I had 2 tickets but the system froze while processing my credit card and the transaction timed out! By the time I got back in, it was sold out.
Posted by: concert addict | Jan 15, 2010 at 01:32 PM
Same thing happened to me that happened to concert addict - I had one ticket that was processing credit card information, but it timed out then Sold Out! That site sucked!
Posted by: Barry B | Jan 15, 2010 at 03:16 PM
Yeah, I don't think this Groove ticket site could handle the demand. I had two tickets in my cart, but when I went to checkout, it couldn't process my order cos tickets were sold out. What?! It wasn't even 12:01 p.m. yet.
Posted by: charlotte | Jan 15, 2010 at 03:16 PM
Yes, it sold out online quick. With a 10 ticket limit, it's not surprising. They'll be tickets available at the door. You just have to get there REALLY early.
Posted by: TheScenestar | Jan 15, 2010 at 08:38 PM
according to the email i just got from danceright, the rest of the tickets went on sale at 2 pm, so now the show is totally sold out. no more tickets at the door.
and when i say i just got the email, i mean i got it at 2:15, 15 minutes after the tickets went on sale. pretty smooth.
