Vampire Weekend To Play FREE Show Sunday

So you couldn't get into today's "secret" Vampire Weekend show this Halloween? Not to worries Scenestar readers because you have another chance to see them free this weekend!

Vampire Weekend are in town in support of their new album, Contra and besides today's secret they will be playing a free show this Sunday, November 1st Sunday in honor of Dia De Los Muertos at 3:30pm at Hollenbeck Recreation Center's band shell in Boyle Heights. Get there early to get a good spot and don't forget your "pan de muerto" for the Dia De Los Muertos altar!

New Music Video - Basement Jaxx "My Turn"

Basement Jaxx are back with a new video "My Turn" off their newest release Scars. They're in town tonight to drop the beats at Hard Haunted House along with Scenestar favorites Justice, Buraka Som Sistema and more at the Shrine Expo Hall. BRMC, Shirley Manson & More To Play Pablove Benefit

The Pablove Foundation continues with its mission of fighting childhood cancer with love by spreading the word about its work. Currently Dangerbird Records founder Jeff Castelaz is riding for 3000 miles in 30 days to his ultimate destination back home. On Saturday, November 21st, he'll have some friends waiting to play some acoustic tunes for a Pablove benefit show at Avalon!

Scenestar favorites Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Shirley Manson, Tom Morello, Butch Walker and more will be playing acoustic sets to help fundraise for the Pablove Foundation next month giving you the chance to help contribute. All proceeds go towards Children's Hospital Los Angeles. General admission is $35, $65 for VIP with tickets going on sale this Saturday, October 31st at 10:00am so click below and enjoy good music while helping a great cause.

Sea Wolf has a new music video for their single "Wicked Blood" off their new album White Water, White Bloom. Sea Wolf is scheduled to play KCRW's Masquerade Ball with DJ Shadow, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Little Dragon and KCRW's DJs spinning all night! The XX Goes On Hiatus & Cancels Tour Dates

Bad news The XX fans. Looks like the buzz band of the moment is on hiatus. Guitarist/keyboardist Baria Quereshi decided not to play their show at the Village Underground at Shoreditch while The XX continued on with the show and played as a threesome. They announced to the crowd ""Obviously this has been a really tough few days for us. This is the first time we've played as a three piece." They then dedicated "VCR" to Baria. The XX later stated will take this weekend to discuss their future cancelling some European dates with a possible return on Tuesday, November 3rd in Germany. The band later claimed that Baria is suffering from exhaustion from the grueling tour schedule.

The XX are scheduled to play with Friendly Fires in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 21st to the Henry Fonda Music Box so we're hoping things get resolved by then so we can catch them live and wish them the best.

The Books Schedule Date With Hollywood Forever

Experimental duo The Books are back together and back on tour! The Books have been at work on a new album but for now they'll be hitting the road and coming to Los Angeles on Monday, November 23rd at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

New Music Video - Fan Death "Reunited"

Fan Death is back with a interesting new music video for their track "Reunited" off their latest album A Coin For The Well. Check it out and see if you can name all the icons "appearing" on this new music video, especially a special message from Billy Corgan at the end of the video. Unless you want to travel to Vancouver to their Halloween show, there's no scheduled tour dates yet for Fan Death but we'll keep you posted when they book Los Angeles Scenestar readers!

The Bravery To Meet & Greet Fans Friday

It looks like The Sounds meet and greet from last week is going to be an ongoing thing! This week it's The Bravery's turn! On Friday, October 30th, Live Nation will be selling tickets to see The Bravery show at the Wiltern on Thursday, November 5th at their box office located at the Hollywood Palladium.

Helping with the ticket sales will be the one and only Bravery! They'll be at the box office waiting to meet and greet fans from 6:00pm - 7:00pm for those who buy tickets this Friday in Hollywood including the fact that tickets will be sold with no service fees. Great deal right? Opening for The Bravery will be Dusty's, Howling Bells and The Living Things. If you don't get a chance to make it to the meet and greet, you can always buy tickets through Live Nation by clicking below so don't miss your chance to see The Bravery this week at the Wiltern.

Vinyl Lover's Lounge Hosts Halloween Edition

So you have some creepy cool sounds on vinyl collecting dust? Well it's that time again to dust them off and we have the perfect place to give them a whirl. Vinyl Lover's Lounge, co-hosted by Scenestar favorite DJ Daisy O'Dell and Derek Bevil, will be hosting a vinyl night at Palihouse Holloway's Lounge this Friday, October 30th from 9pm - 1am on Halloween Eve.

It's one of our favorite nights to just bring our records and spin some music but this time we can come in costume or secret identities which is almost the same thing. This is your chance to hit the decks at a cool environment with Derek and Daisy there to offer encouragement during your set. Don't worry about your level of DJing because they're both there to help and they won't bite but we can't promise that after Midnight. So bring out the Bauhaus and Monster Mash to Vinyl Lover's Lounge at Palihouse in West Hollywood!

Lilith Fair Returns Next Summer

2009 saw a few festivals come to an end or at least on temporary hiatus for the year. Next year though, we're getting back one of the most popular festivals of the late 1990s, Lilith Fair! Lilith Fair's official website launched yesterday and announced 17 North American tour stops including Los Angeles and an international tour date in London.

Artists and exact dates have yet to be revealed for Lilith Fair but we're guessing co-founder Sarah McLachlan will be one of the headliners but has previously included Christina Aguilera, Fiona Apple, Erykah Badu, Sinead O'Connor, Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow and Liz Phair to give you an idea on the variety of acts. We'll keep you posted on any developments on the return of Lilith Fair!
