Perhaps it was just the nature of the seated Orpheum Theatre that prompted Rodrigo Sánchez, of guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, to comment that the audience was so well-behaved.  Yet, it didn't take long into the band's set to bring the sold out crowd to their feet, an occurrence that was frequent throughout the evening.

Playing a mix from their self-titled debut and their recently released sophomore effort, 11:11, the group effortlessly displayed the celebrated intricacies of their guitar-playing.  Despite just being a band of two, the sound brought on by the Mexico City natives (who now call Dublin their home) still managed to be rich and full, supported by Gabriela Quintero's ability to utilize every bit of her hands to create sonic masterpieces.

Band Of Horses To Play Club Nokia 1 Year Anniversary

Wow, it's already a year since Club Nokia opened? Well, it looks like the party is on because the venue is celebrating its birthdays with one of The Scenestar's favorite bands, Band of Horses on Monday, November 9th. They had just recently sold out the Pomona Fox Theatre and now they're back for a local show to help Club Nokia with the show festivities.

Thom Yorke "Secret Show" @ EchoPlex?

Thom Yorke sure is making the most out of his time in Los Angeles. After two secret DJ sets at the Roosevelt Hotel (Including one last night. Here's a picture I found on the internet from his DJ set yesterday) and booking two shows at the Orpheum Theatre, word on the street is that Thom Yorke's current band will debut this Friday, October 2nd at a "secret show" at EchoPlex!

No word yet on whether this show will be available to the public or that it's event happening according to the L.A. Weekly this morning.

This is good news for those who want to catch Thom Yorke at an intimate venue. This is even bigger news to those who missed out in buying tickets to any of the now sold out Orpheum Theatre shows because now they have another chance of catching Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke live while in Los Angeles! We're guessing it will be a Will Call only show at EchoPlex if it goes public that goes on sale within the next two days and we will keep you posted once we at TheScenestar have more info.

One of The Scenestar's favorite albums this year has to be The Horror's Primary Colors. Not to mention that they amzed us opening for The Kills a few months back. Now The Horrors are back for their own headlinings show this week including one at one of the smallest venues on their Southern California tour, the Glass House in Pomona on Friday, October 2nd. Thom Yorke Schedules Intimate Orpheum Shows

So now we know what your not so evil plans you were cooking up while in our fair city of Los Angeles Thom Yorke! Radiohead's lead vocalist has been in town now for a few weeks randomly appearing for surprise guest DJ sets at the Roosevelt, hanging out at Wednesday's La Boum at Bardot and hitting up local Silverlake bars. Now he surprises us with two shows this weekend at the Orpheum Theatre!

The long wait is finally over Interpol and Paul Banks fans because tickets for Julian Plenti are finally going on sale this Saturday on October 3rd at 10:00am via Ticketmaster. As we reported earlier, Paul Banks AKA Julian Plenti will be playing at the El Rey Theatre on Thursday, November 19th in support of his recent Matador solo release Julian Plenti is... Skyscraper.

There will be a special Goldenvoice presale this Friday, October 2nd at 10:00am for those impatient Julian Plenti fans so just hold tight and we will post all the presale info as soon as we get it faithful Scenestar readers!

Weezer To Headline Hollywood Palladium

Now that Weezer is done co-headlining with Blink 182, the band is ready to headline their own shows in support of their newest album Raditude. If you missed your chance to catch their "secret show" last week at The Roxy, you'll have your chance to catch their new tunes this October.

Weezer will be playing at the Hollywood Palladium on Saturday, October 24th. Tickets will go on sale this Saturday, October 3rd at 10:00am via Live Nation. No word yet on any presales but we'll keep our eyes peeled for your Scenestar readers!
