There's nothing more that we love here at The Scenestar than a good show coming to town, but when there isn't, we love to catch a movie or two. Lucky for us, the upcoming Los Angeles Film Festival gives us a chance to combine both! The Los Angeles Film Festival will be taking place June 18th - 28th in Westwood and surrounding venues bringing us new films and interesting events.
In relation to music, there's always their yearly music video series, but there's always some interesting musically themed films.
One involves a screening of "13 Most Beautiful...Songs For Andy Warhol's Screen Tests" with a live performance by Dean & Britta at the John Ford Anson Theater. Other films range from Jack White, The Edge and Jimmy Page jamming in "It Might Get Loud" to Belle & Sebastian, Animal Collective, Nick Cave, Mogwai and Sonic Youth performing in "All Tomorrow's Parties" to footage of James Brown, Celia Cruz and B.B. King performing at 1964 Zaire in "Soul Power". These are just a few of the musical films the Los Angeles Film Festival is screening so be sure to check out the whole festival line-up of films. Spaces are limited so get your tickets before they sell out!
