Beck sure loves to surprise us Los Angelenos.
Mr. Hansen has just announced he will be performing a show this Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Echoplex!
Tickets go on sale today at 5pm and are $20 each. There’s a two ticket limit per person, will call only. You *must* bring the credit card you used to purchase the tickets and a photo ID to the show. The tickets are non-transferable. Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm. Ages 18+.
It’ll be no surprise if this sells out, so be sure to get your tickets today.

why 18+? ugh...it's so frustrating cause i'll be 18 in 1 1/2 weeks :(

Hmm.. is there an access code required?
Posted by: paul | Nov 23, 2007 at 05:19 PM
what is the access code??
Posted by: tien | Nov 23, 2007 at 05:37 PM
FYI no one i know got tickets ticketweb decided only access code holders could buy tickets. I presume the show will be full of industry douchebags. Thanks Echoplex for the false lead. Why send out an email at all???

I'm trying to find a contact to see what's up with the access code. If we find it, we will post it. Hang tight kids. This access code thing is arrrggg!!!!!!!!

Why did they send it out if they're not going to give out the code? I called Ticketweb and even they didn't know what the deal was.

funny thing is it says access code optional.. its not bloody optional at all is it. chav cunts they are.

Just asked some friends who also got the email and they didn't get a code either. Weird. Oh well.

the access code is optional. they had that for sigur ros and the code did nothing.
a friend of mine got beck tickets no problem, but when she checked again, about 10 minutes later, the no. of tickets option went away, which most likely means the show has already sold out. but keep checking back, cos ticketweb tends to release tickets sporadically.

When I called Ticketweb an hour ago they said there are plenty of tickets still available, but only people with a password can buy them. Even over the phone.

Didn't have a code, had no advance notice other than the Echoplex's email, and had no problem buying tickets on Ticketweb. A few minutes later, as scenestar said, the number of tickets option had gone away, which probably meant the tickets were gone. Sorry you didn't get in, eva, but "industry douchebags"? Please.

If you didn't get tickets, they'll have some at the door. There were tickets starting at 5pm. Once the public allotment was gone, you could only get them if you had the access code. I say get there as soon as you can Sunday.

To put any missers-out at ease: in my humble opinion the show was not good. The mix was loud and muddy. Beck's voice came through at about 50% the volume of his bass player's incessant shouting. The set was largely Mellow Gold, Odelay, and Information... not bad in and of itself, but the renditions were thrashy and lacked any sort of dynamic. Just loud and fast from start to finish. Also Beck said almost nothing to the audience the entire evening, hiding underneath a giant hat, and in general looking fairly ill-at-ease.

Hm, interesting. When I saw Beck at his last secret show at the Echo, he didn't say anything to the fans either. And also hid behind a big hat.

Look I was online the second tix went on sale. I never recieved the option to buy tickets and neither did any of a dozen friends. I also called ticketweb and the operator told me an access code was required "apparently". In addition he was poorly informed and wasn't even aware of so called access codes beforehand. If it was sold out his database should have been able to tell me that. Clearly there were still tickets they closed out to the public. I stick by my former assessment that the show undoubtedly was disproportionately industry.
